Bore Pump installation in Canberra

We installed this bore pump for a retirement village in Canberra recently. It fills the adjacent tank which, in turn, is pumped out to the irrigation system.

Bore stats: 55m deep, SWL (Standing Water Level) 24m, Flow rate 0.8L per second

Pump Stats: Pumpmaster ST05-19 submersible bore pump, 0.75hp (0.55kW), nominal 30lpm flow.

Customer stats: Happy.

Lorentz Solar Pump at Braidwood

 This Lorentz Solar pump system draws from a beautiful spring fed dam east of Braidwood. It cosists of 3000 watts of solar array along with a submersible centrifugal pump floated under a welded poly pontoon. The Clenergy pole mounts provide a simple, adjustable base for the panels and controller. The pump supplies a number of tanks, approximately 1km away and with 50m static head. A pressure system and SunSwitch ensure that it operates properly all year round.




New Solar Pump for Angus Taylor

We were very proud to be asked to install this Lorentz solar pump for our local federal member of parliament, Angus Taylor, and his wife, Louise, on their farm near Goulburn.

This little beauty will deliver 12,000 - 18,000 litres per day with zero running costs. It will fill a 50,000 litre tank which reticulates to troughs around the property. The pump is mounted under a welded poly pontoon, and is fitted with a pressure switch which shuts the pump down when the tank is full.

Lorentz Solar Pump at Bigga

This small Lorentz solar pump system was installed near Bigga, NSW. It was installed in just a few hours and now fills a remote tank as well as topping up the adjacent waterhole. Owners Trevor and Will were on hand to watch the install, and have loved their trouble free (and power free!) system ever since.

Lorentz Solar Pumping systems are certainly building an excellent reputation in regional NSW.

Lorentz Solar Pump Solution at Bungonia National Park

This Lorentz solar pumping system was installed at Bungonia National Park to service the needs of campers and staff. Previously a large 3 phase pump had been installed which was both costly and time consuming to operate.

The new solar system operates in parallel with the old system, but supplies the base load of water requirement to the park. The system is designed to deliver approximately 20,000L per day to a series of storage tanks 70m uphill and 2km away. 

Each part had to be carried in to the site over some pretty treacherous ground, whereas the original system was brought in by helicopter. 

The control system has been located in the original pump shed and the new solar system plugs into the existing infrastructure, allowing staff to top up the tanks with the 3 phase pump system during peak useage if necessary. How's the serenity?





Another Happy Lorentz Customer!

Our customer (we'll call him Brian) needed to get water to irrigate his extensive parkland garden. His problem was that his only viable water source was over 1 kilometer away with no power available. We installed this Lorentz solar pump system to transfer water from his large remote dam to a small dam near the house. 1.3km of poly pipe was buried by tractor and ripper and by dingo trencher. A standard electric irrigation pump then reticulates the water out to a network of taps around his garden. The system works a treat and filled his dam in just a few days. Brian now has ample water for his garden and can expand and improve his already lovely garden. Lorentz, and Goulburn Water Systems now have another happy customer!

 





Automatic Pop Up Sprinkler System at Crookwell

Goulburn water Systems recently designed and installed this automated pop up sprinkler system at Crookwell. Our client wanted a system that would keep his house yard green and pleasant as well as reducing his fire risk. The system is scheduled to come on 3 times per week and will deliver approximately half an inch of precipitation per week. We used Hunter PGP sprinklers, Richdel solenoid valves and a Hunter Pro C irrigation controller. The pump system of choice was a Lowara 5SV11 Multistage pump with Wellmate pressure tank. We are looking forward to seeing a lovely green lawn in a couple of months time.

WHY have a bore?

Whether it be for irrigation, livestock, domestic or municipal water supplies, a reliable source of water can eliminate the many frustrations and hardships normally associated with drought and prolonged dry weather. Bores provide an inexpensive and readily available water source, irrespective of weather conditions.
As well as insuring against losses of crops and stock and the water carting expenses, the cost of bore construction is also a fully allowable, taxation deduction for farming and other commercial ventures.

WHO can equip my bore with a pump and the rest?

Goulburn Water Systems of course. That's us. We can size, quote and install your bore pump and provide you with a number of control options. There is a huge range of bore pumps, so its important to get the right pump for the job. Bigger is rarely better in this case.



HOW do I get a bore and pump for my place?

It's actually quite easy. First contact one of the drillers listed above. They will help you work out the best place to locate the bore (some use divining methods, others just know). They will also handle licensing and registration of your bore with the relevant authorities. Then they make a long deep hole. In most cases they will find water at different depths. They will advise you about the quality and quantity of available water as they go along. Then the drillers will case and backfill the bore. At the end the drillers will give you a drillers log with recommendations regarding pump set depth and flow rates as well as aquifer depths.

Bring your drillers log along with you and we can then start working out which equipment will best suit your bore, and you. We will normally give you a written quote which, if it passes muster, can be installed soon after.

Pumpmaster Gusher Moves Some Serious Water

This job required a quick and simple solution to dewater a gravel pit. Our client wanted a pump system that was light and easy to move but with enough performance to get the job done quick and fast. The solution was the Pumpmaster SEH100 pump powered by a Honda GX240 (8HP) petrol motor. This little beast moves upward of 1000 litres per minute and will empty this pit (its 9m deep!) in a day or two. Not pictured is a "Mussell" foot valve assembly which will ensure that gravel and sand will not enter the suction and foul the pump.
Our Number One Pump Gun, Snowy, loves these jobs. They make him feel manly and powerful.

Another Lorentz Solar Pump Installation

Goulburn Water Systems were recently asked to supply and install another Lorentz Solar Pumping system at Windellama, 40km southeast of Goulburn. He wanted a water supply to wash down motorbikes and perhaps to grow a bit of grass. A bore had been drilled close to his weekender and had good yield and good quality water available. The only obstacle: No power available! Goulburn Water Systems were able to recommend a suitable pump, panel and controller combination which would meet his requirements and more. The system was a Lorentz 1100 Watt (6 panels) Helical Rotor pumping system delivering an average of  7,100 to 9,500 Litres per day to a 5000 Gallon tank approximately 850m away and 30m above. The system took less than a day to install, once the concrete footing had been poured, and the tank was full 2 days later. Our client now has an excellent water supply and is planning what he is going to do with it.

 Goulburn Water Systems have recently installed this solar pumping unit as part of a CMA project. The client had an excellent permanent waterhole that is also subject to occasional flooding. The brief was to provide a pumping system which would reliably reticulate water around his property, but also be able to stay out of the way of any storm flows coming downstream.

The pump chosen was a Lorentz PS600 HR07, 525 Watt Helical Rotor submersible pump powered by 3 Astronergy 175 watt panels. Lorentz were the preferred choice due to their large range of pumps (which meant that the correct pump for the job could be chosen) as well as their rugged (cast stainless steel) construction.  It was installed inside a 6" PVC pipe which was concreted into the creek bank, placing the pump below flood water flows and away from any fast moving debris. The panels and controller were installed above the high water mark along with the pressure system.

AUSSIE EXTENDS 5 YEAR WARRANTY


Australian Pump Industries, Australia’s leading self priming centrifugal pump specialist, has extended it’s unique 5 year warranty coverage to include the range of Aussie Poly Pumps.

The Poly Pump range, 2” and 3” pumps manufactured from high tech polyester materials, are used in a wide range of aggressive liquid transfer applications in industrial, agricultural and marine market sectors.

“When we saw cheap Chinese copy-type products coming out on the market, we realised that the best way to differentiate copycat style products to the original, was by extending our warranty” said Dean Fountain. “We know that low quality Asian copies will never be able to follow us down that path” he said.
